Spring Favorites
Stepping out the dreary winter months, Spring is a welcome sight and season. Yes, I live in California and I know the jokes, but this is all I know and it isn’t pleasant! We notice the birds chirping, the blue skies and sun shining, and an opportunity bust out of cute outfits and shoes…. What a joy!
Here are a few of my favorite things I am enjoying this Spring.
I can’t remember where I first heard about this brand, but I really wanted to find a quality perfume that left an impression but wouldn’t break the bank. I also try to buy cruelty-free, so this was a must try!
I tend to favor floral scents, so I figured Flora Carnivora would be my jam but I decided to get the sampler for my first purchase here. There are many exquisite scents that make me feel so beautiful. I’ve been complimented on my scent when I wear any one of them.
My favorite is the Flora Carnivora as I suspected and I will be purchasing the full bottle of that one as well as Torn and Char. Perfect floral scent for all seasons, especially Spring.
Skin care is very important to me as I approach 40, but that has not always been the case. I list this as a Spring Favorite, but I honestly wear this year-round. This works well for my skin tone and texture.
The best part is it’s sheer! No white paint on my face and it blends in so well under my makeup. There is also a matte version if that’s what you prefer. I just keep it next to my entryway table and put it on right before I leave the house for the day. It is super affordable and comes in varying SPF levels from 30, 45 and 50.
There’s even a kid’s version that I get for my kids, which is great as well with no white residue.
Available from many stores such as Target and Ulta Beauty.
Renee’s Garden Scatter Garden Seeds Wildflowers
Announcement: I do not have a green thumb. My mom and sister plant vegetables and fruits; as does my husband and my mother-in-law. I really know nothing about gardening and planting seeds. A few months ago, I saw this canister at a small beach store, and I was tempted to get them. I didn’t have the confidence to take on the task, so I didn’t get them. My mother-in-law later got them for me.
This year, I really wanted to find new hobbies. As a mom with two young children, I don’t have a lot of hobbies. I also wanted to test myself and if I failed, I could either try again or buy another crossword puzzle book.
I planted these seeds in the Winter and lo and behold, these started sprouting a few weeks ago. This Spring has been pretty rainy in my town, so the weather has been on my side. Look how pretty these guys are!
Admittedly, I still have no clue what I am doing…. I water them almost daily. Once I need to start pulling and cutting weeds, I think I’ll have to actually figure it out but for now I’ll just look at how pretty they are at the moment.
Open-Toe Platform Shoes
I got these platform shoes on sale for probably $10 at Old Navy. I was just trying to escape the rain one day, where I didn’t have my umbrella and stumbled upon these shoes. I assume they were marked down because they are suede, high heels and a larger size ie assuming tall women won’t get four-inch heels.
Well, wrong! I got them and love them. I wore them in a few of my Spring Outfit ideas (link) and I just love them. They are black and so cute to wear with so many different styles and especially pair well with my dark, rock n’ roll inspired fits.
I wonder if suede in Spring is a controversial thing. I feel like back in my days at retail, suede was a Fall and Winter material… but I. Do. Not. Care. I wear what I want and when I want.
Great advice! Things we know but quickly forget! Thank you for the reminder ❤️❤️
